The Avengers is The Wizard of Oz x The Felloship of the Ring in character archetypes x plot; The X-Men (young adult OG five) should be The Wizard of Oz x The Sorcerer’s Stone

I’m gonna keep mentioning The Wizard of Oz not even because it’s the most important blockbuster of all time, but because I’m certain that it’s mandatory for a low fantasy ensemble of colorful characters who must be a team as they navigate a foreign world to have seemingly intentional parallels to the Wizard of Oz to EVEN HAVE A CHANCE to become a cultural and commercial mega smash

See: Star Wars, arguably Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, The Avengers and even the first Transformers. Also see Guardians of the Galaxy

Last part of rant: The Harry Potter mythos has a million close parallels with the X-Men mythos as is; it’s time to take advantage of that the other way around. Stranger Things also takes a lot from the X-Men. The point is, I see an opportunity for audiences to grow up with the X-Men, and the nature of the mythos makes it so that they can be young adult without having to be tweens-mid teens. Time to make it make sense

And imagine how much of an all time W it will be if Marvel manages to make the OG five as cool as the Claremont teams. Dude
