It’s interesting to me that people are more lenient on changing the personality of a character than the looks of a character. As long as they look like their comic counterpart studios can do whatever they want but as soon as they race swap it becomes an issue. If comic accuracy is the standard, it should be the other way around imo

u should tbr - however it's still about finding a balance that respects every medium; (i.e., settling on an actress who can relay og rogue's bubbly personality but also the underlying conflicted awkwardness seen on screen that would naturally come with her volatile powerset)

you're right tho, ppl make a big fuss about there needing to be comic accuracy and get anti-woke about race swaps - but when it's rightful critiques like the casting of aaron pierre as a green lantern who's typically perceived as dark skin, garfield's peter parker being too 'cool'/conventionally attractive to be a nerd, canon rebuttals in favor of zendaya/boyega/etc. - then it becomes too much. its clear {white} fans are the only ones allowed to pick and choose when to be mad lol

Probably controversial but they need to stop with Claremont at least for the first film. Literally every adaptation of the x-men in every non-comic medium has been Claremont…like I get it, he’s to X-Men what Lee is to Spider-Man but it’s time to drastically freshen up. Then you can REALLY dig into the potential Harry Potter/Stranger Things level series phenomenon with it
