Fans know way too much about production processes nowadays. There’s no set time limit or how far in advance a film has to shoot for it to be a good film.

People are worried about Doomsday because it features an ensemble cast, is still writing the script and building out sets, and is set to release in 12 months. That makes sense.

This Spider-Man film is a completely different scenario

if anything, this might be the best one cause it’s the most time they’ve spent filming a superhero movie in recent times

or it could flop but just thinking one is dumb lol when so far they haven’t let us down (at least to me)

Homecoming started filming in June 2016, released in July 2017.

Far From Home started filming in July 2018, released in July 2019.

No Way Home started filming in October 2020, released in December 2021.

Brand New Day will start shooting this summer. This is a completely normal timeline for an MCU Spider-Man film

Good movies aren’t made that fast. They bout to deliver yet another undercooked meal

How fast a movie films has no correlation as to how good the film turns out.

The Best Picture winner at this year’s Oscar’s was filmed in 37 days.

    Oppenheimer filmed in 57 days.

The Brutalist, a 3 hour epic, was filmed in 34 days.

There is no set amount of time that a film has to shoot for it to turn out as a good film

Yeah but all 3 of those had IMAX screens upon release and this one won't.

Delaying it is the smartest move financially (even if it's just around the corner) and I'd be really surprised if they don't.

And guess what, none of those films were filled with 75% CGI slop😱it isn’t the actual filming that takes the bulk of the time

They just pushed it back a week recently.

There are no Sony movies AT ALL on the IMAX slate for next year as of right now.

They most likely just haven’t finalized their deal with IMAX for releases in 2026.
Brand New Day will definitely get an IMAX release. If they were worried about that, it would’ve been delayed longer than a week

They delayed it by a week because they knew opening by the Odyssey would detract from their income.

Oppenheimer had 3 weeks of IMAX exclusivity, it's very likely the Odyssey will as well considering how early out Nolan makes his time arrangements with them. It's why Barbie never got any IMAX screens other than like a single day 3 weeks into their theatrical run, and it's why MI7 barely got IMAX screens.

Spidey likely will not have IMAX screens even on July 31st if the Odyssey deal is similar to Oppenheimer's. I think the plan is to move it another week or two and moving it once was a way to get it closer to the real date they're wanting so it doesn't sound like them moving it a month later.

Your point still makes no sense.

All three Spider-Man films started shooting one year prior to release, and filmed for a period of 4-5 months.

Brand New Day will be on the exact same timeline. What is your point?

I promise you a Marvel-produced Spider-Man film has way more pull than a Barbie film, especially considering the fact that No Way Home essentially saved the theater industry back in 2021.

If they had concerns about IMAX screens, they would’ve pushed it back further than a week already

You might be right obviously, but remember this comment when they eventually push it back just a bit more (or if they just choose to not have IMAX screens on the initial weekend, which would be weird af)

Every single live-action Spider-Man film ever has released in the primetime summer blockbuster months (May/June/July).

The one exception was No Way Home, and that was for obvious reasons.

I could be wrong, but I cannot imagine them pushing this to August. It’s way too late in the season for it

A week or two isn't that much of a difference especially when it's crowded and unable to potentially have IMAX screens for over a week

Endgame made the most money of any movie other than Avatar and it came out in April

you didn’t enjoy either of the last 2 Spider-Man movies that were made in that time frame?

endgame was filmed in 5 months

you didn’t enjoy parasite which is considered a modern day classic and was filmed in 5 months?

there is no evidence that justifies ya’ll saying this, so ima assume you just repeating points you heard. good and bad movies can be made in whatever time frame

    NO bro. I hate Marvel’s Spider-Man.

and all three of those movies, especially NWH, looked like complete s***. the time it takes to film it doesn't matter, agreed, but considering the majority of this movie will be created in post...yes, the overall timeline does matter. you're out here comparing this to s*** like anora and oppenheimer and then telling me my point doesn't make any sense

Post-production on Godzilla Minus One took 9 months.

Post-production on Far From Home took 8 months.

The length of time spent making a film is not a direct indicator of how good or bad the film will be (or look).

You just don’t like the way the Spider-Man films look, and that’s totally okay. But don’t make up these arbitrary time limit rules to justify your opinion

Now it’s about how many shots there are

If you don’t like the way the films look, cool. Point stands that there’s no arbitrary time limit for how long a film has to be worked on to be good
