I think a lot of CBM criticism would die when ppl really realize that the company don't give a f*** about you. The only time they'll "listen" is when the fan's idea gets enough retweets. That being said, I don't think the "street level" stuff was necessarily WHY the OGs were good; definitely a part but not the entire sum and substance of it. It just had massively better characters and relationships with Peter, a more realized world, shot like an actual movie, tangible action, comic stylization, there's a lot going on that goes into making it the best. That's definitely why people latched onto Dr Strange 2 despite it still having some modern misgivings
