I don't see it. The Amazing Spider-man series is sauceless as hell and Spider-Man 3 is still full of personality. Its biggest sin is really just that it's too much of a good thing. I think Peter's arc is super unique, the relationship drama with Mary Jane is realistic, the Sandman stuff is great. I always thought it was rad.

Outside of Into The Spider-Verse I haven’t seen a project that hit the spot like Homecoming did.
As cool as Brand New Day is the charm of Pete being a dumb ass smart nigga in the 10th grade won me over.
Like just the scene of Peter not being able to join the Mathletes field trip and the other kid’s reactions is the type of s*** I’ve wanted in a Spider-Man movies
I seen the nigga crying and saving the same girl since I was 8 years old that s*** is OLD
but I digress
