shaleiroseI don't think he needs to work at Bugle necessarily, but like a whole movie with no real insight to Peter's life was a bit glaring. Its a hallmark of Spider-Man stories
There being a lack of focus on Peter’s personal life was the point of the entire movie

Brother he is buying little Caesar’s pizza in this and has a large place . Struggling with bills after a loved one dies and the world wants more from you is a human struggle . Pretending any human can go 4 years barely work and just be spider man really is just odd writing .

YANDHIYeah but everyone still has to find some way to afford an apartment, put together the tech he does, etc.. He doesn't have a "personal life" as in close friends/family, but he surely can't pull together even the basic life he has in NYC without a job. And its usually odd for street level Peter story to just dodge that when. You notice immediately.
I think the disconnect here is that for some fans, Peter's everyman qualities that get woven into Spider-Man stories seem small when they're present, but are immediately noticeable when its lacking. If you choose to just drop everything and make it that he's full time Spider-Man and just has nothing else going on it leaves questions still.

We can literally look in the no way home thread and people genuinely saying the same thing . No aunt may . No one knows him . No Tony . What many of us said “ man glad they took a risk with this ending they will chill on mj and Ned “ . Then mj and Ned got announced as returning we were like okay likely or hopefully a minor role . It’s been 5 years but we still remember . Mixed in were rumors of multiverse story .
Getting 4 movies in for Peter to potentially have a life. Because after all he sees in doomsday and secret wars . His villains aren’t going to be like “ oh he got a job now let’s chill on him “ after he literally lowered the crime rate to record levels
It’s the no job , Oscorp , no daily bugle , not in college , has 0 friends outside of Ned and mj . Confessing to mj again and Ned knowing through a handshake to me were disappointing choices .
Made a wish everyone would forget only for someone to know again that quick because he wanted her love without even trying to connect with humans other than those who worship him being spiderman at the beginning middle and end of the movie

Aug 22While yeah the overall point of the movie is that he's become more spider-man than Peter Parker and his work life balance is completely shifted one way, I think it's still fair to say we barely get a sense of who Peter is before that shift happened. Which makes the last "I'm both" scene, less impactful.
Even small scenes like him getting fired for being late because he was off being Spider-man or scenes of him leaving mid shift to be spider-man or him using rent money to buy tech would help get across better the idea that he's losing balance
