He served his purpose in this lol. Again what else would he have contributed to this movie? Nothing. It was fine. I get wanting him in maybe another movie but he didn’t need any other scenes in this specific movie.

I think this movie while good had too much time on non spider man related characters that we will never see him interact with again in his solo movies.

@NobodyWins you guys are kinda talking past each other yes thats how they were functionally used but @ShintaroKago just seems to want a more grounded story or at least to not sideline these characters and consequentially reduce their ability to be used in movies substantially going forward

i thought they illlustrated the point well but i hope we see some of those villains again, however seems unlikely with the scope and scale they are going for. like in a movie ok i could see scorpion, tombstone is a bit too small where as kingpin could be cool because there is more meat on the story and character.

Yeah but my point is he didn’t need more time in this movie. I said I get wanting more of him in something else like his own movie. I just don’t get the complaints that in this we needed more of him when he wouldn’t have added to the story they wanted to tell.

You get it. Sadie Sink character gets a lot of time in this movie and the writing of her is very last minute to never see the character again within a solo movie. That is all. Punisher cool crossover. S*** give us Kingpin . Liked the overall message but looking back at what theyve built of specifically spider man world of reoccuring characters its very flimsy

this is in many ways a better x men introduction movie than a spider man movie

i think he just doesnt like how much they were reduced on their introduction to being defeated which likely closes their chapter of appearing in the films with any sort of substance. but kinda makes sense with scale of movie they are going for, and as you describe in this movie kinda makes sense as a montage but maybe the execution left some feeling a bit off. but idk

I disagree but I can see why you think that. She isn’t my first choice for Spider-Man movie villains but I didn’t mind it.

Speed running Spider Man facing many villains and saying the crime rate at record lows then spending the amount of time they do on other things later in the movies. I think its still a solid spider man movie better than the home trilogy but the writing of the Jean parts of seeing one old memory with her sister. Only seeing her sister alive for that one scene. her sister supposed to be older than her has better grasp of powers knows they are likely being tracked and just conveniently gets ice cream alone then forces jean to not get kidnapped with her. ehhhh . Scorpion having no real plot point of any kind of his own mind . Hulk getting a quick storyline. No way home none of them being his universes villains. So Scorpion, Mysterio dead, vulture who may be in morbius reality. Is all we have from 4 films lol. Jean gets a hour of this movie . No oscorp is kind of insane

I would have been fine with this movie having less MJ and Ned saving that full reunion for next movie while giving them their own separate plots we see in this movie .

having jean threaten and control MJ after thinking man I thought we were going to get one movie without MJ being saved by Spider Man. Is like okay . Especially since Jean could have just controlled MJ and not told him instead said "lets race to her " then threw her off a building. William Metzger while "evil" there is a reason for doing what he is doing to her sister he not just doing it to be f\*\*\*ed up. the Jean parts could be executed better. Still a very good spider man film overall. But knowing Jean will never be in a spider man movie again. MJ and Ned cool they know spider man again. No other spider man focused villains or businesses introduced. How much did this movie accomplish for specifically spider mans new york? Besides they all love spider man again but from the beginning of the movie everyone loved him too

A few years back, I thought for sure that the Thunderbolts being introduced to MCU wouldve led to a President Osborne story. Holland Spiderman vs OG Goblin was hype, and it did bring us here to Brand New Day but I really would like to see an MCU Green Goblin, or Hobgoblin/Demogoblin at least
