Because many people were like "did I miss something did they actually meet in staten island". I got it quick but people were confused by that both in theater and thread. The joke wasnt that amazing
If anything this tells me that Doomsday will probably get IMAX screens in January and they'll do posters for that weekend
Pretty funny the two biggest movies this year have the main character’s love interest get possessed by an unseen force and come onto them and one just revels in it and takes it further and further and the other instantly apologizes
let people discuss something without getting defensive when you played no part in making of something. Rather than b****ing about someone giving a light grievance.
Is it getting defensive or is it just calling out the fact that some people will complain about literally anything
I've barely been ITT, idc if someone don't like the movie, just making an observation
Yeah that's the case I'm 99% sure
70mm Odyssey has shows going into September
I know because I might drive to Georgia to catch it in 70 one more time over Labor Day weekend
i havent seen it 70mm IMAX yet but saw 70mm so may run it back once

did remind me of obsession with the pivotal moment lol
Its getting defensive.
Saying "some of y'all complain a lot" is not a defense, it's an observation
I think IMAX were the ones who decided to get Spidey since the exclusivity window is over
They're splitting screens if anything, the two IMAX screens (not 70mm or GT Laser but just the normal ones) are splitting. One is keeping The Odyssey and the other has Spider-Man. I don't think that's all that bad if you ask me.
here's a thought:
if it wasn't filmed in imax then it shouldnt be in imax. bigger does not mean better.
also:
imax needs to build their own theaters
and:
hey why are your cameras so DAM loud huh!

It was. Destin Daniel Cretton said there were some sections filmed for IMAX

WOOPS
Saying "some of y'all complain a lot" is not a defense, it's an observation
we been saying great things about the movie for pages on pages yet you focus on one user saying one thing they didnt like. They didnt say it ruined the movie for them in anyway
But yeah I agree there definitely needs to be more of them
but like ... i'm not buying "filmed FOR imax" ... that sounds like some spin. and he announced this JUST a week ago?
like did you use imax cameras or not? i haven't seen anything about that yet...
WOOPS
select sequences shot for imax. But a lot of it set up for screen x . They knew outside of usa they could be imax day 1
this disney marvel whatevervision is about to f*** up the whole industry.

People are conditioned to having to do homework with the MCU so they didn’t see it was just a gag to imply history

oh yeah 100%

True, but I'd imagine they didn't say anything in the marketing for the movie since it wasn't releasing in IMAX opening weekend
screen x sounds like some p***
all them screns

True but I was just responding to what I saw on that page

I mean the amount they were making the same joke a flashback wouldnt have hurt especially to justify their friendship after the ending
peter saved his life only to nearly get killed by him

To me, it's literally no different than the Budapest banter between Natasha and Clint. Not really sure how it could've been taken as anything more than that
I think Spider-Man showed you can introduce show characters with finesse
I’ve never watched punisher but he fit right in with no explanation
So characters like Monica Rambeau, Wiccan, and maybe even Agatha can show up with little context
