On one hand I’m conflicted about them using my sacred spidey movie to do x men set up
Especially when the actual essential spidey ingredients have maybe never been better.
But then when we got the Jean flashback
And they’re talking about ‘our parents got rid of us because we are different….’
And ‘people will treat us differently because of the way we are” type stuff
And other just general x men vibe stuff
It wasn’t even particularly strong or emotional, it was just surreal and exciting to finally see it happening in the mcu and on the big screen

i grew up on that first x men trilogy and there’s so much that i can’t wait/hope to see again on the big screen and this was a nice sweet start

Experiment626Nah I didn’t mean it was great for nostalgia purposes but it was special as the first & great Spidey movie
But I wouldn’t pin Rami as the ultimate example for Spiderman movies. He executed a vision really well but MCU Spidey is a very different one
& if ima be honest, this new movie is great in its own standards
spider man 1 and 2 still clear all mcu spidey movies as movies for me
Brand New Day is the first mcu spider man movie where I can say it balances all elements I would want well. its what I have wanted from them for a while. Especially when they said no origin. I think the entire homecoming trilogy is an origin story
