I think this would probably be better on second watch. Expecting some connection to Xmen the whole time and then not getting it was disorienting on first viewing but I think going in knowing this is exclusively a spider man story and not directly connecting to anything would make for a better time. anyways, not bad

was as close to a connection to x men as you can get without it being an x men movie my man what do you mean

I liked it, definitely the best of the tom holland movies and really shows just how lackluster those last 2 holland movies were and how watts didn't know what he was doing past homecoming. Visually mcu spider-man never looked better and that suit the way it was popping off on the screen

I wouldnt say the movie felt overstuffed, punisher, hulk, hand, etc were used tastefully but Jean's presence, was far too much for me and detracted from spiderman and Peter's journey imo. At times it felt more like a backdoor pilot to the x-men just off her inclusion rather than a true spidey film. Definitely a better world building movie than say Avengers 2, but still just wish less time was spent on the antagonist of the movie to focus more on peter. Like the scene where jean askes if he's Spiderman or peter and he says both, didnt really hit because we barely got much regarding that arc

Destin did a pretty good job handling all the threads but it's a bit unfortunate that the storyline was kinda bogged down by other elements

Also I expected more from the action and web sling scenes. They were good especially last fight but it could of been better

    “A” Cinemascore.

2 billion is probably the floor at this point.

You know…I’ve had an even wilder prediction for the final gross in case of word of mouth/acclaim on top of existing hype. My number has always been $2.1 billion for a lock, but it could very well shock the world and do $2.5 billion

I completely put it out my mind somehow that this features Marvel’s biggest icons duking it out, both notably returning to beloved form in this particular movie. That’s such a draw for most people I imagine just the image of that being a reality

  • Captain America vs Iron Man may be diegetic Superman vs Batman of Marvel, but Hulk vs Spider-Man is non-diegetic Superman vs Batman of Marvel, aka Superman vs Batman of Marvel for the people

Camera work was fun but we saw too much of the hand fight in trailers. Then the montage was just super speed

This felt soulless to me and now I have no faith in Marvel to do the X-Men justice.

    Enjoy the weekend, everyone.

there was at least an attempt at soul but did it fully land ? Not for me. Better than other Holland movies. Do I think they will do X Men justice after this ? Too early to say thats a different director and writer. The MCU depends on X Men

MJ and Ned are alright . MJ and Peter romance some how is disturbingly hollow considering the actors are married in real life. Could just be me. Ned and Peter work but it feels like they literally just reliving moments they have already experienced in both cases. They don't make new memories and most of their conversations revolve around Spider Man to an unnatural degree

Come up as Spider Man and chill with him like he is a make a wish kid is insane . Its just all a bit too fanned out for me. Ned could be living his life changing lives cherishing life after remembering spider man saved him so much . Instead he is obsessed with tracking spider man like he is a celebrity then when he spends time with him he plays with toys . It all feels a bit odd . Especially mid movie

    Great movie

    First movie where tom holland isn’t a f***ing p****

Hope they keep going in this direction, black eyed Spider-Man is way cooler

Tom being legit would be nice.

No joke this image is the first time I ever saw Spider-Man and Hulk when I was 5 years old
