Peter’s identity is exposed at the end of FFH and is accused of murdering a bad guy. No trail scenes. No jail scenes. No scenes were it shows sometimes that makes you think “oh s*** the stakes were raised and it might be over”
Nah just a throwaway line of Matt Murdock saying “Peter your troubles may be over for now but…” like there was no stakes at all.
So I’m not surprised they couldn’t keep Zendaya away for one damn movie lol
I’m the biggest Tom Holland Spidey fan on this site but the way they give Spidey big stakes and then write it off the next movie like it was no big deal is annoying af
Yeah their unwillingness to change the status quo is one thing but it becomes annoying when they present it as a possibility then immediately take it back.
Hopefully this movie is different tho

Homecoming is a fun Spidey adventure with Spectacular Spider-Man vibes. Probably my 3rd favorite live action movie behind Raimi’s first two

That being said I still think MJ being in this is a non-issue. She has a new boyfriend we don’t know what her role in this is yet

End of Batman begins, Bruce tells Rachel they can’t be together for her safety. She’s seen in the sequel with a new man
End of Raimi Spider-Man, Peter tells MJ they can’t be together for her safety. She’s seen in the sequel with a new man
End of No Way Home, Peter makes everyone forget his identity and chooses not to approach MJ for her safety. In the sequel it’s confirmed she has a new man

In The Amazing Spider-Man that y’all cape for so much
Peter tells Gwen they can’t be together for her safety (something her father warns him of). He walks back on it by the end of the movie and she dies because of it in the sequel
