This new trilogy would need to take on a whole different tone, because the Home Trilogy operated as comedies a large part of the time.

Highly doubt this new trilogy will have exact tone as the Watts films tbh. Watts said he was very inspired by 80s teen comedies, I’d imagine Cretton isn’t planning to adapt that same specific tone

I think the teen comedy vibe worked because it took place in high school.
But I’d imagine Feige doesn’t want a young adult Spidey film to feel like an 80s teen comedy .
NWH ended on a somber tone, so that’s the perfect transition in to a more mature trilogy
