to me it always felt like they were both outcasts for completely different reasons but that was the thing they bonded over

the first ten minutes of SM3 is so weird. It's like four different things are being set up at once and feels inconsistent

Yeah that’s probably my complaint with the first Raimi movie.

On top of that (partly because of it), We don’t ever really see Norman acting fatherly to Peter aside from the brief conversation at the graduation. In 3, after Harry has his coma, we see more of them just being friends. If they had more moments like that in the first movie I think the whole thing would hit harder
