What are the essentials in this case besides the raimi trilogy and the mcu?

I’m only rewatching them cus I don’t remember much of these movies to begin with I remember seeing them as a kid but that’s really it

The internet ruined the movies for me with the memes. Everything in those movies makes me laugh because of them. But I will say the second is the least corny of the three and still easily the best.

What I noticed about the first is it feels like a comic book come to life, especially with Willem’s performance. He comes across as a true cartoony/comic book villain

The second def has the most intensity and that’s why it has the most emotional weight to me . Willem was also a super highlight of the first . Even through my laughter his performance was f***ing on point

Lmao side note but that festival scene in the first movie is the pure definition of comic book extremity 😂. The cuts , the zoom ins , the acting . F***ing golden

It’s been years for a lot of us . Cool to reconnect those emotional threads to these characters

Every time Goblin says “We’ll meet again, Spider-Man!” I laugh because it’s so corny and over the top but also feels like a Saturday Morning Cartoon. Willem DaFoe definitely is the highlight role of the movie, so many quoteables and moment’s.

As a side note I always thought Maguire was a mediocre actor but rewatching those movies made me appreciate his performance because he nails that awkward nerd but loveable swagger.
