Ugh. Holland's a great actor, but his Spider-Man has been butchered by Disney/Sony.

He's a Spider-Man with no secret identity, no Daily Bugle job, no Uncle Ben, no struggling/old Aunt May, no party girl Mary Jane, no Osbornes

Homecoming is a good coming-of-age movie and a good Spider-Man movie. Far From Home is an okay superhero movie and a horrible Spider-Man movie.

    Party girl Mary Jane?

Mary Jane has always been conceived as an adventurous party girl who is charismatic to avoid attention from her abusive home-life.

Admittedly no film adaptation has gotten this right, but the MCU had a chance to and didn't even try

Not every Spider-Man has to be the same

Plus the MCU has almost no secret identities and it’s a big deal that Spider-Man’s was outed and there is no way he’s going to stay in the open by the end of this movie.

Spider-Man in the comics has not been the same in his entire 50+ year history.

The Uncle Ben thing is one thing but he did exist at one point

But comics Peter hasn’t been a Bugle employee his entire life. He even started Parker Industries at one point. MJ is far from his only lover interest in the comics and although she’s “The One,” she hasn’t always been a party girl in every single interpretation.

The Osborne’s will eventually he introduced, but after 5 straight movies of them having a presence it can get tiring so I think it’s good that they make it a point to not include them yet. Spider-Man’s rogues gallery is much more than just Norman and Harry.

Oh I know, some of my favorite Spidey content takes liberty with the material, but I feel like the MCU doesn't. The MCU treats Spidey as their safety net and treat the movies like commercials for other MCU films. It's very strange.

got no idea how theyre gonna pull this off but the 12 year old in me is insanely hyped

  • Dec 9, 2020

All this just for strange to show a 5 second image of spidermen from other universe

Loved Jake as Mysterio but the whole Tony Stark glasses subplot was wack

Why would Tony even leave this giant responsibility to Peter and not the Avengers anyway

Because Disney needed to make Spider-Man seem important without adding anything to his actual independence.

Giving Peter independence ENSURES that Sony doesn't need Disney any more, so why would they do that?

I mean they already brainwashed the masses when they tried to strongarm Sony and Sony called their bluff.

Can't believe literally attacked Sony for trying to get out of an abusive business deal

  • BnBallinToo

Tom Holland really is a side character in this

would be f***ing worth it. Who gives a f*** at this point if DAREDEVIL IS BACK

A daredevil/kingpin/spider man grounded film based around his identity being revealed + a separate spider verse film or mini series

Would be better than Them tryna cram this into less than 3 hours lol

We need a fan cut that splices in scenes from Euphoria to give us a more in depth party girl MJ

CGI Ledger Joker showing up for a brief second too

  • Bruh y’all don’t even realize how f***ing GOAT this s*** can potentially be.

Holland Spidey connecting (or making canon within MCU) at least three different universes with this film this s*** is actually insane

  • just bring back Daredevil, Punisher, Kingpin.

    Keep the rest tbh
