Completed reads isn’t too bad as you’re in to read stories about these characters in their own world. My experience with comics was just buying volumes/full collection of storylines or reading a random series from any period.

You can read a lot of the greatest stories as their own thing, they often provide context well (don’t read out of order or without story context ofc ). I would recommend seeing if a full event briefly started before its own series because it used to confuse me when an event series just started with action.

Keeping up with continuity isn’t really a problem, though. There was an era you had regular marvel and “ultimate” marvel. That was a different active continuity for them to do new things while having the traditional things continue in the main universe. Through ultimate they were able to kill peter parker in one active series while he’s doing well in the other, theyre drastically different to not get lost over which is which.

Funny enough a couple years ago Marvel wrote a crazy ass event that served the purpose of leaving the marvel comics with one single combined universe, so a lot of concepts new and old are in the same world now (Secret Wars 2015).

Newer marvel comics are mostly about heroes who might share identical roles/powers or heroes that were handed down a role. These passed down roles are starting to be adapted to the movies one by one cuz it’s actually a good way to work around aging actors and extending contracts while writing new stuff. And this multiverse fusion s*** in the comics could be how Disney decides to combine all their marvel properties that were made before or outside the MCU (X-Men, older Spider-Man movies, Deadpool) into one movie franchise.

best thing to do with comics is to start with small stories to see if u even like the format

i started with Vision by Tom King, u can get all the issues as 1 big book and read it

that story also slightly influenced WandaVision the tv show

best way to get into marvel movies is to watch the movies in release order imo

and only the marvel studios ones are part of the universe (iron man 1 being the first)

Manga is usually a better adaptation than movies to comics though

This was fun, loved the action but yeah the story is very basic for a multiverse one

This a great idea problem is that it’s hard trying to find comics that aren’t in continuity. There’s some great stories out there too it’s just that the comic field waaay more uncontainable than manga lol like I been interested in reading X-men but MAAN is that s*** dense

yeah but thats why i like getting omnibus / omnibundles (even tho those are sometimes more expensive) because u get everything u need to understnad the story yk ?

the vision is completely self-contained though

for DC u can also read the new 52 like batman by scott snyder which is pretty self-contained and good

I been hearing great things about about new 52 new 52 is like a relaunch of the comics right? Also I hear good things about the ultimate marvel comics too

i still think this’ll be better to binge as one big animated collection than a weekly thing
