Something like BVS fails ultimately to make any comedy seem natural for me because it tries so hard to be serious
When whedon made Batman say
‘Well…..I don’t, NOT like you….🥺☺️‘ to superman
I literally can’t even take it or think about that line ahh it’s too much
I feel mixed on this
I agree generally with what you’re saying but at the same time some of these corny jokes feel in character for some of them
Like i would believe this MCU thor being a fat pathetic wasted mess of a person that is screaming on the mic at a kid that’s playing fortnite after failing so miserably at saving half of all life.
I believe that professor hulk is so cringe enough to try to fit in with the kids by dabbing
has to feel in character to me
Idk those two particular exemples made it feel like Thor and hulk were just used as comic relief although their arcs could be super interesting, this is especially true for Hilk, bro has been getting clowned all the time for like 4 movies straight lmaoo, Idk it makes some of the character interactions and narratives weightless imo
It’s all dependent on the character
Like I hope Moon Knight doesn’t have the same amount of comedy as Spider-Man for example.
It will probably be there but some stories don’t need as much comedy

Thank god for the Snyder Cut
I'm totally ok with Spider Man or some younger or sassy characters making jiokes tbh, but when it's all the characters doing it bro just stop please

Yeah totally spidey is known for that in comics and other iterations too. Him talking and needing to make jokes has been explored in so many cool ways too
Like one thing was like he does it to distract and confuse enemies like why is this guy constantly joking when it’s time to fight
And another was like he’s a scared and excited kid so he does it out of nervousness

Spider man is such a great character man
I love him even though I hate spiders

I definitely agree with that take when it comes to Hulk but I think Thor definitely benefits from that legit levity of comedy
