Inhumans are a subset of humans who were experimented on by the Kree. Generations later they mate with humans and many of them have innate abilities. Those abilities are unlocked by the Terrigen Mist. It’s like some rock thing.

I know it’s likely not Canon but Agents of SHIELD season 2 does a good job exploring the Inhumans outside of the Royal Family

So inhumans were humans the kree experimented on a looooong time ago, and they live in a city called attilan with like lots of technology, and when they grow old enough they are exposed to the terrigen mist which awakens their full unique genetical potential, they all have unique abilities

What's interesting is that their society is actually very flawed and they have like real inequality and even slavery, so some really heavy subjects can be tackled in their comics

They're really interesting imo, but it gets dark so I see how it wouildnt fit the MCU
