He was a recast for the TV show just like they used to do in sitcoms. In sitcoms nobody would question the recast. They make lil jokes like “you look different. Is it the hair?” Type s***.

That overshadowed the whole thing, and obviously what many many many people thought was tying into the fact that this story is continued in multiverse Spiderman and dr strange and the MULTIVERSE of madness.

If the reveal that he was just an actor worked it would’ve worked. It didn’t work at all and sticks out as something that doesn’t thematically or cleverly enhance a single of the shows themes.
