in fact superman’s creation happened after the artist joel schuester watched his dad die in front of him. the police didn’t help so he invented a character that could help people like him and his family outside of a legal system that clearly didn’t care about him. that’s why superman’s first couple of years in comics is him fighting landlords and robber-barons
