Wasn't the initial argument Superman vs Iron Man?
If that's the case why aren't we comparing their movies box office revenue instead of Deadpool lol
Iron Man 1 was 585 million
Man Of Steel was 668 million
Iron Man 2 was 623 million
BvS was 874 miillion
Justice League was the only movie that grossed less than Iron Man 3 with 661 million to Iron Man's 1.2 billion which can be chalked up to the bad word of mouth we spoke of earlier with the previous films
All you did was show that Iron Man 3 made a whopping billion dollars while a solo Superman movie has never even cleared $675 million
Define good selling cause Man of steel did good as a movie. Did it break a billi? No. But if a billi is what's required to be a good selling movie then James Cameron is one of the niggas making them
It did so well as a movie that it never got a standalone sequel!
Nah there’s a reason they waited until right after the outcome of the court case to fire him
I do think Quanumania flopping was going to lead to some kind of a switch up though
Ok I forgot about that
Regardless I bet Kang would've been hoed 10 mins max into Avengers 5's run time to show how powerful Doom really is

Nah I just added to the argument that Superman consistently did higher numbers than Iron Man lol
As did the batman, dude is just yapping lol
Tbh idek if we're talking about money or general interest. Cause if we comparing that then one could say my interests aren't consistent.

The initial argument was just straight up popularity between Superman and Iron Man but he zeroed in on box office money and whenever people brought up s*** like comic books, merch sales, adaptations in other media etc. it got written off lol
Me nor Mjpplus were even arguing that Superman is THE MOST popular character just that he's more well known than Tony Stark lol
Side question. I'm out of the know, but is Kang officially done? No recast?
seems like it

Nothing's confirmed yet with Kang but the fact they still havent recasted yet, plus them pivoting to RDJ Doom, and Quantumania flopping giving them a perfect out, I don't think the odds for a Kang Recast/follow up is looking too good rn
We sure there won’t be any Kang involvement in Doomsday tho? Might b copium but I’m holding out for a recast even if it’s just for a minor role
They coulda just made RDJ Kang then. I think whoever called the Doom Variants got it

I think they would’ve announced it at SDCC if they’d recast. So many great actors to replace Majors, its unfortunate

Iron Man was not as popular as he was in 2008 and 2010 as he is right now. During those years, Superman was obviously still more popular.
I’m talking about right now in 2024. Iron Man is without a doubt a more loved and renowned character than Superman currently is.
If a new Iron Man film was announced right now it’s doing a billion easily
I think alot of the black actors they wanted for a Kang Recast probably wanted no parts of it. Due to the Majors stink on the role and MCU being in a rut right now relatively.
This is a good plot but having Kang lose to Paul Rudd was always gonna f*** folks perception up tbh
He went up against the whole Quantum Realm without all his future tech. If the movie wasn’t ass it would’ve worked.

Wow that's lame. I hadn't seen loki or antman but I was kinda curious as to what was to come of him. Shame. This whole no recast thing makes me nervous for when Wolverine needs to be recast. Like I know people were saying it was disrespectful to recast T'challa as if the actor and the character were the same.
Same with Iron Man and RDJ and other characters

They bushed War Machine and Hulk and recast them dudes quick with no problem back in the day. Crazy they so scared to do that now
Don Cheadle not even the same skin tone as Terrance Howard. It was like a reverse Aunt Viv Situation
Don Cheadle Dark skin and Terrance Howard super light skin. And these movies supposed to be in the same continuity.

That's why when initially came in the thread I said
cause in my small world lens he isn't.
He could've said spiderman (peter) if he really wanted to make a good argument

Iron Man 1 (2008) did better than Superman Returns (2006)
585 million to Superman Return's 391 million.
By your standards Iron Man was the most popular character.
Yet Superman dropped two more films and outsold his first two.
What is it man oochie wally or one mic
