Thanos was already being built up in the previous films so yes most of the audience knew that Thanos was an impeding threat that has been built up since the first Avengers film. What are you even saying anymore

I can tell u this not true cuz i remember most the ppl i knew who went to see it only saw black panther and maybe the first iron man fr

I still think Avengers vs. X-Men for Avengers 5 leading into Secret Wars would've been a better, more obvious option

Bro everybody that went to see the Infinity War movies was not some hardcore fan who watched post credits scenes and s*** lmaooo

A lot of the general public went cuz of brand recognition and following a trend lol

Facts and then when you watch the movie you learn about his background and motivation. And then he kills half the f***in world which automatically makes you wanna tune in again

That’s what gets ppl hooked. Good writing. Not some 4-5 movies of foreshadowing. I didn’t give a f*** about a Thanos until I seen him kill spider man and black panther

Thread is jumping. They probably going off in the comments on IG, Facebook, X, Tik Tok, and especially reddit.

This the most chatter, debate, and hype along with Deadpool and Wolverine the MCU has seen since NWH, even Endgame if you want to count NWH as Sony.

    Feige/MCU might have won again

It’s provacative it gets the people going

You gotta get people in the theater seats first. Doctor Doom being a Tony Stark variant will and fits the multiverse saga

“I know this sucks creatively but dumb people will see the actor they know and fall for it and thatll help them make money” is sick

No they didn't. I literally had an experience where I took someone to see Infinity War cuz they heard everyone talking about it and wanted to go.

You are speaking in absolutes like everyone that watched one of the highest grossing movies of all time was some super fan that watched every post credits scene and knew all the lore behind it when the answer that makes the most sense is that it was a huge moment in pop culture and everyone wanted to be a part of it whether they were a hardcore fan or not.

    its a avengers movie bro...

And nobody knows who the f*** is even part of the Avengers right now, this is what y'all are not getting. The general audience who saw Love & Thunder & Quantumania don't give a f*** about an Avengers movie where they don't know/don't care about the characters in it.

Ima keep it real bro majority of regular viewers ain’t give a f*** about Thanos until he started f***in s*** up in Infinity Stone

I promise all that “Thanos is coming Thanos is coming” was forgotten about soon as the end credit scene finished.

Built up how tho? Just as an ominous threat in the background.

People on the internet knew what was happening (myself included) but you can't tell me that the random guy off the street who watches these movies in theaters once was sitting there thinking "damn Thanos is going to f*** everything up." What Infinity War did so well was make him the central character so you knew his motivations and who he was as a character. I couldn't tell you f*** all about MCU Thanos as a character based solely on movies before Infinty War where he had a collective 2 minutes of screentime

Quantumania was the start of Phase 5 and Kang was billed as THE big bad for the foreseeable future and didn't crack 500 mil so it doesn't sound like you know what the f*** you're talking about.

People keep forgetting why those Avengers movies worked and why something like Justice League didn’t.

Marvel took the time to do the work of spending years to make people care about well written, relatable characters in fun summer blockbusters that people enjoyed watching, and then rewarded them with the payoff of them teaming up for a big event movie.

They have done nothing of the like post-Endgame. This casting choice proves that they know that and are trying to overcompensate by using nostalgia to sell tickets

The Flash is the opposite effect of Deadpool and Wolverine and NWH and potentially this Doomsday/Secret Wars stuff with RDJ coming back. Trying to cash in on nostalgia

Them niggas brought back Michael Keaton as Batman and still no one gave a f*** lol
