From listening to a Josh speak about it, I think the ending it supposed to be more happy than sad
Well he talked about how his original ending was going to be a montage of showing him go through family life and give up his dream and it would end with him as a grandfather playing with his grand kid.
By all accounts that’s probably a much happier ending for the character than a lot of other scenarios. But in the moment I think Marty is sad because he realizes his dream is over

just heard the first two tracks off the ost and had to stop myself. how does the most expensive a24 film get such a limited release in eu
A24 is a US distributor that’s the issue. For international rights they usually sell on country by country basis to local distributors, which then may result in limited releases.
For Gems pretty sure it was just a Netflix release for several countries.
we are Team Timmy Tim in this house
Sure af ain’t team Hawke or Leo
Hawke was unwatchable and Leo’s just going thru the motions performance wise

I get that, I think the christmas release date is the biggest factor at play here. Even in eastern europe we've gotten all their major releases day and date for the past two/three years. Everything but their smallest productions and Marty

Could be. Holiday tends to be staggered more often into the next year than other seasons
