TIMOTHEE HATERS LOST YET AGAIN
Ngl if anyone’s hating on Timothee after the Sietch scene of Dune 2, their loss.
I was ready to go to war for him during that speech

He’s just mad cuz his QB is ass.
Seen everyone praising OPN's score (his previous ones are amazing). Is he gonna take the trophy next year?
Fennessey stamped
me and club chalamet won

i can’t see this being something i. want to watch but at the same time i feel like i must for safdie sigh
Tbf this seems like it has all the basics of a Safdie movie minus Bennys editing and edge.
Josh still used Bronstein and OPN while Benny just decided to go at a film as a solo director, writer and editor for better or worse. At the end of the day we still have two Safdie films so it’s a win
the editing of their films make it for me idk if imma use that as an excuse to skip watching a movie ab ping pong but i might

Nahh this seems like it'll still be good tho lol. Ronald Bronstein is Josh's cowriter, but was often Benny's co-editor. He's still editor here
Benny has a particular edge to him that he carried still in his editing for The Curse and Smashing Machine but this will still prob have the normal Safdie anxiety, craze, frustrating characters, etc.., I was fearful this would be a bit normal cus of the trailer but it seems like its still very Safdie

i’ll watch it at home probably, idk if im a loser / hated but i never been sold on chalamet and i don’t see this movie selling me on him given the premise
Of the 7 films to win both lead acting awards, only 3 have gone on to win Best Picture. Given the circumstances, I don’t think it’s at all a guarantee that two lead acting wins is going to be enough topple the behemoth that OBAA is. Buckley is practically getting a free run, there’s nobody from OBAA she has to beat, hell there might only be two Best Actress nominees from Best Picture nominees this year.
Regardless, the momentum seems to favor Mescal going supporting, and with this praise now for Timmy, I think that’s only going to get stronger. I don’t really think the Academy is salivating at the thought of giving Penn another Oscar, and Sentimental Value is losing steam by the day. Much easier path.

Yeah it should, reviews are saying this is more anxiety inducing than uncut gems
