is hollywood that out of actors that we need dijon and tyler to fill roles ?
Safdies always throw non actors in movies
well, with Timmy and Tyler alone Josh got some of the most recognizable faces around rn.
meanwhile Benny got a completely unrecognizable The Rock, who generally also wouldn't be quite on that same level in 2025. and word around is that despite looking like oscar bait it's actually a weird af film too.
The Curse alone was super weird. my impression is he's taking all these acting roles now to be able to fund all these out there ideas
both timmy and tyler are likely to work on an out there project especially with someone like josh, i think you’re kinda pigeonholing him by this train of thought. he wrote this together with bronstein whose worked on all their previous films with them. all signs point to this being a genuine creative attempt from josh and not something to aim towards hollywood
we literally haven’t seen anything solo from josh so just seems like an unfair point to make and kinda just a black and white kind of split down the middle of the two as if either one isn’t a whole expressive human being
Not everything has to be a competition. The split led to us getting two Safdie movies this year we won
Watching box office Twitter compare the numbers to these two sport biopics gonna be hell

noo no don't get me wrong, I'm still expecting a Safdie movie out of this and not at all "mainstream"
I'm talking more about subtle but distinct differences u can see in their approaches already, I should've said "more Hollywood-leaning", as in comparatively. also it's not even a value judgement, if either of them go for a blockbuster type film I'd def give them the benefit of the doubt for it.
and ofc I'm aware this is v much still judging the book by its cover, just sharing my preliminary feelings/expectations, it's just obviously gonna be very interesting how their styles differ when going solo.
the more I learn about both projects the more intrigued I am for both tbh, even tho I usually don't care about sports genre at all, getting 2 Safdie films almost at the same time is awesome
Looks great
Seems like Benny is keeping with the more lo-fi run and gun filmmaking look and Josh is kind of elevating to a cleaner more sleek look
Oh god
this movie looks like it could go to 1000
Idk something is missing
u gotta wait til the whole thing comes out for the Gwyneth Paltrow s***scene
@bruntz gonna hate this trailer
