Pogba and Greenwood weren’t much better in their first few games for United. On youth level they were equal to Garnacho as well, Garnacho even above Greenwood in that regard. There were clips of Garnacho in the youth team coming out literally every week and won youth FA cup. Also our view of these players now heavily influences what we think about their potential back then.
This just is completely untrue, lol. Garnacho was good at youth level, but Greenwood and Pogba were just better. Pogba was a man against boys back then — think Kobbie Mainoo but better. Greenwood on the other hand was just straight up guaranteed. Goals coming out the wazoo at every level. He was fast-tracked age groups multiple times.
This is all immaterial anyway, the boy is performing at senior level now, so what he did beforehand doesn’t matter. But to put him at youth level on an equal level to the above is just incorrect. Those two, alongside Morrison, are the best players I’ve ever seen at this club at that level.

Ronaldo says senior executives at Old Trafford even doubted him when he explained why he couldn’t return, which made him feel “hurt” and “bad”.
This wasn’t how the fairy tale was supposed to end.

Was this before or after he called Jorge Mendes to spend the entire summer looking for another club? To the point where those other clubs had to make public statements to confirm they weren’t interested in him? Probably afterwards.
