Training reports sound encouraging
Direct, clear, intense and we’re training a lot with the ball. Sounds promising.
What we think the plan is for the starting XI? Can't lie I'm struggling to put it together with these signings

Martinez could either play cb or as a dm. I think we could possibly see a 3 at the back with Martinez going to midfield when in attack.

Yeah the short a***ysis video I watched on him made it seem he'd be perfect for a role like that. I'm just praying the plan isn't for him to be in a centre back pairing because it seems like it would exacerbate his weaknesses on top of being pretty superfluous

If we needed a new defender for a pairing I’d still go for Torres, but Martinez is a kind of player we don’t have at the moment. A very fast and agressive defender that can also play ball, so wouldn’t mind him coming in at all.
Short term winning the Europa League and finishing top 4 are fair goals for this season and Ronaldo would help them both significantly, but long term he’ll be gone and we’ll play different without him, so I don’t mind ripping the bandaid off now
Every suggested replacement I've seen has either been straight out of 2016 or completely infeasible
This is hilarious tho
We can not let our best player go for 20 million with no replacement. Time to treat him like 2009 until we find another Antonio Valencia
If ronaldo gave a f*** about united he would have given us the heads up and done it weeks ago. We're trynna convince de jong martinez and eriksen to come were potential days away from that we lost cavani and greenwood and he goes and does that at this key time. Says a lot about him.
Literal amateurs at the helm

Other than the high wages, why join Manchester United when it's a player development graveyard with little optimism domestically and in Europe?
Ten Haag is leading the charge to look in the Netherlands because he still holds high esteem in that circle.
I think you can see both sides to it:
The cynical side: Man Utd are pretty clueless with scouting, make it up as they go along with whoever the manager is and don’t appear to have clever alternatives when a player becomes too expensive/doesn’t want to join; OR
The more optimistic side: Ten Hag wants to adopt possession based football, we don’t have the optimal players for it, so he’s targeting players who are familiar with his style of football to make the process as smooth as possible. First season, so you can cut him a little slack in that regard.
Seen Memphis, Morata shouts and obviously Martial 🤮
Morata
If we even entertain that then we're definitely finished
Sell Ronaldo in all honesty, can’t have a player who doesn’t want to be here. Problem is the obvious getting a striker right now
Nunez would’ve been ideal but that’s passed. Maybe Osimhen but he will cost alot and he’s not that prolific. Maybe do a swap with Lewa with Bayern but that’s unlikely. Don’t really know what ST we could get
Maybe a false 9 is the way to go

Is selling our best for 20 million with no back up and someone who is professional enough to still play for the team really worth it?
