Probably not, but I really want every player that’s even thinking about leaving to just leave man. Get a new coach in who basically has a blank slate. Give him a decent budget to get players he wants and fit his vision, not just players with a big name. The likes of Pogba Cavani Matic Mata Martial, maybe even Rashford and Ronaldo leaving will free up a very big amount of salary for new signings.

If you've watched him play, you can tell he's a bit of a problem player with how he plays. Chaos baller, he tries too hard to force the issue. Uncoachable

Shaw is one of the better players when he chooses to show up. He has massive motivation issues and fitness concerns. His quality is not really in doubt, but his application definitely is.

Same a***ysis rings true for a fair few players, tbh.

Imagine passing on Conte who would have had a handle on the personalities in the club.

Forge a rebuild centred around De Gea, Sancho, Elanga and keep Bruno, Matic, Lindelof, Jones etc. as auxilliary players. Make some astute signings for long-term to fill out the line-up and aim for 9th or something.

Disagree on the motivation issue part. Fighting back from a broken leg, slagged off by your manager, and having a potential replacement signed seems indicative of a great deal of motivation.

Yeah, he was motivated for that season. Once he was hyped to the heavens (rightly so, he was a top 3 LB in the world last season) it got to his head, he got complacent, and the simple stuff went away from his game.

Shaw has been at the club for 7 years and he’s had about 2 seasons at the level required.

Fatigue and a crap defence all round would be my explanation rather than complacency.

Defensive mistakes no doubt but thats always gonna be the case. Exacerbated when everyone else on the pitch is off their game too. Still managed to pitch in a few assists.

Varane Shaw and McTominay and won’t have to go imo. Varane and Shaw in form are great players (idk why you would think Varane wouldn’t stick around for a rebuild?) + McTominay shouldn’t be a regular starter, but is a decent squad player that has United DNA and is one of the only players that feels like he actually cares about the club, would rather see Matic go. Rest of the list can go imo, but really hope Rashford can get his form back, because it would be a shame to see a lad from Manchester go.
