*Major trophies, never had world class team too though
Let's see what he can do
Well the intention in hiring him is obviously not for us to suddenly go out and win major trophies in the next 6 months.
But when you have senior players like De Gea openly saying, 'we have no idea what to do when we get the ball', then a coach like him is the antidote.
Great news
I’m so happy we have a tactical savant, footballing rain man in charge for once. There’s been way too many guys telling SAF Anecdotes and inshallah for the past 3 years
German coach Ralf Rangnick spoke about the beginning of the coaching career of Thomas Tuchel, who now works at Chelsea.
"Thanks to me, Thomas became a coach. He was my player at Ulm, and he had to retire because of a knee problem.
I gave him a job coaching the U15 team. He wasn't even going to be a coach, he was working in a bar in Stuttgart," Rangnick recalled.
In a vacuum, it's the right move but I'll be very surprised if he makes a sizeable positive difference.
Seems like a manager who needs an entire preseason plus the first 10 matches of the new season to impose his philosophy

Which manager doesn't need that?

This whole 'United way' etc needs to go. It's a rough attempt at SAF replication.
We need someone ready to make their own mark on United history.
A German's exactly what United need, I guarantee you a German ain't giving out contracts to players/managers off 1 month of decent form or waiting as long as possible to sack a manager because they don't want him to feel bad
Hopefully this guy kicks some sense into the board and even advises them to dump crap players like Martial.
Proper German football with no gimmicks and s*** contracts being given out to s*** players
Wow a coach with actual tactis
Might take a while but this should be quite an interesting appointment.
If he drops Maguire I'm all for it
Make this man our DOF after this season and get Ten Hag in in the summer. We’ll actually become a good football club again.
Peep the fixtures December through February. For some reason beating Arsenal is easier said than done for United, but win that and there's great opportunities early on for Ralphie
Very surprised he staying on as consultancy for 2 years
Think that was part of his side of the deal, clearly has ideas for the club going forward
