Must say Amorim is not gonna be here for it if we don’t get in a different midfielder
If we can’t sign Baleba now we should approach other targets. Was worried this would be the case if Brighton don’t play ball
Even with Cunha/Mbuemo/Sesko?
Yep, not convinced by the structure and the buildup. The areas Cunha and Mbeumo were picking the ball up from in preseason and the areas they were occupying were places they cannot be taking lots of shots from and be on the end of good chances.
I think we will score more than last season as these players are actually better at football than most of the guys we had there last year, but I still am not fully convinced.
Let’s see how the season goes.
I don't know how Opta works for this sport, but I found out a few years back that for baseball, when they make their upcoming season projections, they don't factor in any offseason acquisition made, which is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.
yeah it’s some bs lol
Opta says sack him now
this some bs
imo there’s absolutely no way in the world that palace would end up top 7 (unfortunately), especially with european football
wolves will imo end up much higher, wouldn’t be surprised if they crack top 10 because pereira has been doing some splendid work since his arrival - depends how much cunha’s departure will hurt them but they got a serious striker with strand larsen
fulham will be definitely higher as well imo and i trust that united can be at least top 8 without european football
on the other hand i wouldn’t be surprised if nottingham ends up even lower after securing europa league
and i would expect spurs way higher because i trust frank but it probably won’t be easy for their squad to combine PL and CL football so yeah
still can’t decide on my top 4 prediction tbh, as of now s*** can really go either way lol
Yanited just spend 200m and we would be happy with top half finished
Amorim carry zero weight he should be sacked now

I have Burnley Leeds and one of Brentford/Wolves for the drop tbh
Big Xhakalaka keeping the mackems up

I hate clubs that do this.
When a player remains respectful they play hard ball.
Then cry when a player forces them to sell through protest.
Just have a reasonable price let the player go and and get a replacement.

I was just thinking about this, it will be tough but honestly if any of the promoted teams stay up it will be Sunderland imo
Would be great to see
Kinda reminds me of Forest rebuild they also bought a s*** ton of players right after promotion and had like 40+ players in the squad (and breached psr on top of that lol)
It’s not that extreme with sunderland but not too far off, hopefully the team will have the same trajectory in the upcoming years
Might not seem like the right move but honestly it almost feels like a necessity for those teams like luton/ipswich/sunderland if they really wanna make the jump to PL work and survive the first season. Those 3 I listed and forest back then clearly made the jump from championship earlier than planned/expected and therefore didn’t have the player base/structure ready for PL unlike those teams like Burnley & Sheffield that go through this s*** almost every year

Yeah it's sad that this has become the standard because of this manager. Anything outside of top 5 with no prize should be an automatic sacking (or it would have been with any other manager).
Amorim has kinda gamed the system by setting the expectations as low as possible for himself so that anything above 10th is gonna feel like progress while it could still be god awful.

Well it reflects good on Baleba himself, at least he seems like he respects the club he plays for. I'm not even that sad about this if we get another midfielder for the time being. Brighton were asking 100 mil plus for Ferguson just a couple seasons ago and look what happened to him, would be good to see if Baleba can do it for two seasons in a row before splashing an insane amount.

we won't get him if we leave it til next summer, better teams will bag him

Yeah I can see that tbh, but on the other hand why arent they not interested this summer then?
YASSS
I don’t think he will score or come close to but this will help this s*** system become somewhat playable

I mean all the big teams don’t really need him this year, you could argue city but they probably just going to have one last ride with Rodri

Spending 230mil under Amorim to play Burnley-esque hoofball in a fancy 5 at the back formation
i just died inside
He was good during pre season

He's already said he won't change system so why would he start doing that.. I'm confused
i just died inside
Mason Mount in a midfield two would be insane movements
