I think Isak is great but at this point the juice stops becoming worth the squeeze — we’re talking likely 150m transfer fee and 300k+ a week salary. 20 goals a season doesn’t really justify that sort of return, he’d need to elevate and go from great to truly elite no.9.

Then again, it’s Liverpool and if he flops the media will be quieter on them than anything else in the world.

I can see a dark timeline playing out where he continues to refuse to show up to training for Newcastle and they cave and sell him to Liverpool for “only” £100m or so.
