the gaffer is the most important part of all this so I disagree. anyway hes gonna prob get the summer to get some transfers done. hes really lucky he came in after ETH tho. any other time and he'd be gone 3 months ago.

The gaffer isn’t the one who’s spent 110m on strikers in 2 seasons with Maguire still being your best option

The gaffer isn’t the one who wasted 600m on a team with no physicality

The gaffer isn’t the one who laid over a billion pounds worth of debt on the club

I don’t really need to go on

despite whether you think Amorim out the ownership has still gotta be more important

entire awful manager situation was made so much worse than them anyway by keeping Ten Hag, then sacking and now finding themselves in another hard spot on that decision

and obviously the way money was spent in last few years which is the biggest financial blunder in the history of the sport

This is true Amorim was smart to distance himself from any other manager in refusing to win football matches

by that logic, anyone we brought in you've fallen head over heels for then, didnt matter if its Ruben or ETH's clone that came in, because of the poor transfers made by the prior logic.

so its not really about Ruben, its really just about ETHs failures.

    aka a rebound. it'll pass.

Yes we have been put in a position by those involved before Ruben where you can not succeed

Both on the pitch and off it

    Again common sense

And no that is not just ten hag for wasting 600m

Not when you consider the position the club has been put in by those who run it

I think we'll scrap it out for like 12-16th there's not much separating those sides but promoted teams are still a tier below us. although if ruben is performing like this all year then it'll be a dog fight to finish 17th.

It's not specifically Ten Hag's failures either, no manager since Fergie is largely responsible for all transfers

idk why you cant succeed, this team is not 16th bad, and should play better than this final. id argue this was yet again a typical Ruben performance, and all managers outside of him have shown way more potential.

you keep saying common sense and calling everyone morons, but your main logic for Ruben being the Messiah is that the managers before him made bad signings so therefore Ruben cant achieve anything.

The manager is important, I think the auteur theory attitude that modern football has about managers probably overstates it

This team today could've been playing perhaps 5% better than they were if changes were made, I would've rather had seen Amad playing wing back and Bruno in the right 10, but I have no confidence that would mean drastically higher quality chances created let alone winning

When one team scores a s*** goal and turns it into a scrap and a dog fight then you have to try and win it by scrapping, we created enough scrappy chances to score a s*** goal too, but people losing their minds about tactics in a one off cup game is naive, we have a season of s*** league performances you can talk about but more accomplished managers than Ruben lose while dominating possession and shots, it's not an excuse for player mistakes that cost us that position and like I said perhaps a couple changes Ruben made could've won us the game but going on about it like its a sure thing is stupidity

    He should be doing better

I’ve said that a million times

But are you really that surprised in the current context of the club top to bottom that we are as bad as we are

I can't think of a single game this season comparable to this one

I don't know if Ruben is the messiah but its naive to already say he's a dumbo and s*** without even one summer transfer window

He’s not getting 30 goals out of Hojlund or 30 clean sheets out of Onana so he must be the worst manager of all time

I mean we've had worse sure this may not have been his absolute worst one, but thats clutching at straws if we're debating which of the 20 losses was the worst (the wins aren't much better).

hes gonna get his window. its naive to say hes the next SAF like KOP proclaims also. can only judge him on what happens on the pitch as good as his interviews are.

Well that’s because he never put out that starting lineup which is absurd to do in a final. That midfield got butchered.

I’m talking about the manner of losing not whether or not we lose

I think a manager coming into a s*** group of players needs at least a few summer windows, so I won’t be convinced until we see the other side of that

I want him to be good and I want him to succeed and jumping on every potential mistake or misstep is not reflective of that to me

    This summer we’ll keep
    Hojlund
    Dalot
    Onana
    Ugarte
    Mount
    Shaw

Why? Because the manager loves these wastemen, he sucks them off in every interview. He’s either a moron or a coward, but you’d have to be insane to think we’re going to be seeing a different United after the summer. Hopefully INEOS steps up, but they seem to be clueless as well.

They don’t want him to succeed - it’s obvious
