Now Tottenham is on a fixed plan to pay back their debt over an amount of years and so long as the club remains financially stable, there is no reason they won't be able to do that, but...) Their transfer debt is also reportedly the highest in the country. Their revenue has fallen pretty substantially over the last few years, and they expect a steeper drop this year. Missing out on UCL next year could result in losses that exceed 300 million.

They're in a similar boat to us.

It genuinely kills me Madrid are about to sign this guy and have him cook as a wing back under Alonso and we: 1. Played Amrabat and Lindelof over him and 2. Chose to sign Patrick Gorgu over him

Crazy thing is we could actually still sign him for 15 mil and bin Dorgu (or even if it’s just to sell Alvaro for more), but we’ll refuse to do it for some reason.

What’s the context? Glazers?

Yes, Glazers are the large majority of the reoccurring issues we’re seeing despite the manager and will continue to the be underlying issue until their voting power at the club diminished or they are reduced to a minority role where they’re just taking a smaller check at the end of every season. Preferably gone.

Specifically this season it would be poorly investing hundreds of millions into a managers philosophy/players, sacking him in October, and bringing in a manager known for his specific system which does not resemble ETH’s 4231 or 424 variations. It’s a disastrous plan from the jump considering ETH was something like 7 points off top 4 when he was sacked.

On the bright side is we seem to actually be committing to a managers philosophy and style of play that will (hopefully) remain even if he’s not here. It’s also a huge advantage he’s had months to settle and suss out the dressing room which typically takes a manager a full season or so

Seen people talk about how it’s literally life or death for both teams and it’s not that deep but it also kinda is?
