Schneiderlin, on paper, was a perfect signing. We wasted a lot of these players that should have seemingly worked out, at least had all the qualities to do so.

One of those perfect on paper deals — peak age, PL proven, position of priority… just didn’t work. The trajectory of his career following us illustrates to me it was just as much his fault as ours. You have plenty of others who didn’t work here who have gone on to be successful.
