42% of goals conceded from corners is crazy

Grandpa Cas the only bully on set pieces in the squad

Will probably be a routine City win now. Crazy because they were lubed for the taking for like 37 mins of the first half

  • Dec 15, 2024

not playing wingers vs Walker & Gvardiol right now is absolutely f***ing insane

  • Dec 15, 2024

This formation/style ain't it, these aren't the players for it.

It's all well and good defending relatively solidly and having better possession, but these lot have an inevitable moment of s*** defending and suddenly we're a goal behind and still unable to create good chances up the other end.

Amad has to get more two footed as well, and stop running so early.

  • Dec 15, 2024

    Well…hope we don’t get battered

    But we know that.

If we wanted a manager to band-aid a milquetoast 4231 to steer the ship right for a 5th place finish, we wouldn’t have appointed Amorim

The club needs a footballing re-education on the necessities of modern football; like ball retention and playing under pressure. If it means struggle ball under we target the right profiles, that’s what it’s going to have to be.

We are in an atrocious place as a football club right now and there’s unfortunately no way we can skip this cutscene

Amorim has been saying this since he came in as well

Whether it pays off long-term we'll see. There's gotta be a balance to be struck. You can't just slip further and further down the table in the short term for the sake of some potential moment of everything clicking.

And we're investing this re-education into a majority of players who (hopefully) won't be here within the next couple summers.

Of course, but half of them will still be here. We just don’t have the squad size or financial bandwidth to completely annex the wasters from the squad in the way, say, Maresca has been able to with Chelsea

We will see, but he needs to be given the time and resources before we make that judgement — I give him a full summer window, after which I think full critical assessment is fair game

    Football re-education

These players need their value raised so they can be sold off in the summer. Who cares about teaching Lisandro Martinez and Diogo Dalot the intricacies of a 3-4-3 if we can’t make more than 15m off each of them

don’t worry Ten Hag will buy them all wherever he goes next

Brother do you think we can choose to educate Amad and Hojlund and ignore Martinez and Dalot?

Who the f*** is going to play in their stead?

The manager and the club obviously know half of these players need to replaced, you obviously can’t f***ing do that mid season

honestly a bit surprised that amorim is so stubborn on the 3-4-2-1/3-4-3 so far given the fact that i considered him quite flexible when it comes to changing formations…. but i think that him sticking with it may be a good sign rather than a bad one in this case, he’s not like ten hag who gave it up and abandoned things after one nasty loss against brentford

it may not be working the best so far but there clearly is progress, a slow one but there is. just afraid that these players aren’t the best for this style of play, that’s a concern i’ve expressed initially right after the appointment and especially when it comes to playing out the back with this back 3, it’s just not it, and i don’t think it will improve much.

better stick with his own vision from the jump though and just implement new players into it, just don’t think that many of the current players have potential to thrive in this system and make some huge progress, besides a few.

When Pep joined City, he knew that Hart had to go for the sake of the system he wanted the club to use. But in-between Pep joining and selling Hart off, he never made Hart play in a way he couldn’t for the sake of the tactics.

This club needs to remember how to win games not how to struggle in a 3-4-3 before they have the players for it

Pep Guardiola was and remains backed by a literal state entity. We have money but ours is finite. Amorim cannot afford to delay his project 9 months because he isn’t playing sandbox mode like Guardiola was able to
