Not his fault but hasn’t played a good game yet? We should sell him while we still can instead of hav him playing the odd efl cup match.

He has made some good performances. Think it was against Watford last month he looked the best on the pitch

    Should've brought diallo on

Yeah looked the best as a 6 rather than a 10 feel like he gets lost there and links up better in his old position at Ajax

That just isn't true, Lingard has been awful in limited appearances the last two seasons, getting away from us did him a world of good.

That's also due to confidence though

Made one appearance for us this season that I recall in a league cup game and looked good imo. Poor last season yeah. But similar situation of limited game time and a ton of off-field stuff going on. Still has plenty quality on a good day as he's already showing for West Ham. As a backup I think he's more than viable. Versatile too.

We just didnt really need VDB ultimately. Pogba in backup, Jesse was plenty fine imo. Got Hannibal coming through too.

Yeah possibly. Im sure he can do better in general as a 10 than he did today. Just needs a solid string of games. Which he understandably aint gonna get

Agree to an extent but I don't think Lingard as back up would do anything for us. This loan to West Ham might make way for that but before that West Ham debut he was looking down and out

Yeah I get you. Definitely benefits to the loan which probably outweigh him sitting around here as backup. And yeah for sure he was always likely to be on the way out. I guess ultimately I just wouldnt have brought in VDB. Forgot we have Mata sitting around too who could easily have played these kinda games instead.

Thank god that game over it was so one dimensional the way we played. I don’t even see the point in having Diallo on the bench. All Ole did was like for like changes rather than actual tactical changes. This was just your typical Ole performance against one of the top 6 clubs where all we do is sideway passing and barely any attacking display.

Van De Beek is an Arsenal type player

I agree. He should be at a side who are 10th in the league.

We need to get rid of James and Van de Beek this summer when they are still worth some change.

why should we sell donny because ole doesnt know how to use him

You can bring Pep in with the spirit of Cruyff and it’s hardly going to make it worthwhile for Van De Beek. He’s just a fairly above average player, there are no standout traits to his game.

Fernandes is light years better as a no.10, and he’s not disciplined enough, nor does he have anywhere near the passing ability (that f***ing crossfield switch tonight ) to play as one of the two deeper in midfield.

It’s a different game when you haven’t Ziyech and De Jong feeding you against VVV Venlo on artificial pitches.

Because Ole doesn’t know how to use him + Donny doesn’t even look like he cares and just isn’t good enough.

Not everything wrong at united is Ole’s fault

Nah this feels revisionist to me in light of his average start with us so far. VDB always gonna end up at a top club, he's a very capable player and has immense potential. He was pretty much set for Madrid before covid. And yes, while the Dutch league is of course a far poorer standard, VDB was standout in numerous champions league games.

He's still young, left behind his family and friends, moved to a new country and tougher league, and all the while has not been given a fair chance. That is no doubt gonna take its toll on performance. So many other factors playing in too like the pressure from press criticism, reliance on Bruno, our uneven team setup, players on different wavelengths than what he is accustomed to, our far slower tempo than Ajax, etc.
