Ok so, we aren’t able to get a much better coach atm. We want to win the league. So we have to improve somehow. How you might ask? Get better defenders, because there are better defenders available atm, contrary to managers. I don’t really see your point here tbh.

We know United aren't getting a manager close to Pep, why would we stick with Lindelof-Maguire just based on the shaky premise that they'd work for him?
Maguire isn't capable of leading the defence as the primary centre back, Maguire+1 hasn't worked. Sign a leader for how ever much it costs and let Maguire fight with the others for second spot.
That's pretty much exactly what happened with Dias and Van Dijk btw. You find the top centre back and see who from the squad slots in best

That simple I think the centre back PAIRING is what most fans are questioning on what we need to improve because they have always been a liability playing together and has been a huge problem these last 2 years. No amount of pep coaching besides the amount he would spend in the transfer market changes that

Maguire is more of a mismatch with Lindelof at least Smalling had some pace and not have Lindelof do all the work
