The former captain, current captain, and most popular, most marketable, highest paid player at this club are about to be on their fourth and sixth managers. Three incredibly influential members in the squad who are largely responsible for the dismal culture of the past half decade plus. I refuse to get excited about the future. It will never be a full reset until they're gone.
make the case for keeping this:
7 games, -3 GD, 8 points, 14th place. 2nd lowest goals scored in the league, only behind southampton.
Smells like a contract extension
we should have bought an additional striker
TONEY was right there for the taking
no way anyone in that picture above, looks at the way this spurs team plays against the same Brighton team we struggled against for 90 mins, and says yeah ETH is the man.
TONEY was right there for the taking
as was Samu and many others instead of zirkzee. im hoping that was legit an ETH signing cause INEOS are looking bad so far.

yeah but Toney was that guy with prem experience also
it made so much sense that’s why we didn’t get him
TONEY was right there for the taking
any premier league proven striker would have done just for rotation
I genuinely don’t believe so
I think it will definitely happen this season, it just feels like it somehow won’t be imminent. Can’t see him lasting Christmas

Yeah, 100%. It has to happen. I just can’t see it happening soon

idk why there would be all this noise and a meeting, if not to sack him.
whats the saying where's there's smoke there's fire etc etc
As a Liverpool fan I really don’t see it happening. Even though it would be a good time to sack him because of the international break.
One of the biggest reasons I don’t see it happening is the lack of alternatives.
Yeah there’s Tuchel, but that would be a disaster in long term
The no replacement excuse is a silly one — we let that nonsense give him an additional summer and he’s currently in 14th with 0 GD.
Managers are disposable assets in the same way players are and the club needs to treat our managers are such — far too long have we let every single manager post SAF overstay their welcome

I’m kind of 50/50 — I definitely think now is about as good of an opportunity as they’re going to get but I could also see them holding off for whatever insanely stupid reason
solanke signing was semi-clowned and not a single person was excited by it. meanwhile we went for some weird sideshow bob non-striker striker.

I understand your frustation bro. But clubs(especially the ones you would target their manager) would not want to negotiate now about a manager. And then United would have to overpay for compensation, and isnt that one of the main things INEOS doesnt want to keep doing. Who would you want if you could pick?
I genuinely think its rotten to the core of the club after Ferguson left. Players, board and staff isnt on the same wavelength. But thats just observation from outside looking in, you can correct me if its wrong in your opinion

If they’re worried about that - you input an interim until the end of the season whilst you spend the rest of it negotiating with your targets.
They also knew this man was literally a day away from being sacked — they should have been deep in negotiations with managers back in the summer and should’ve been keeping conversations on ice with them in the background depending on how ten Hag started the season.
The club is “rotten”, sure. But that doesn’t mean you leave a massively failing manager in charge until the 0.01% chance of the lightbulb flashing takes place and he turns it all around
welbeck would be an improvement on zirk/hojlund.
You lot are going OTT now lmao chill
We’ve mis-signed a lot because ten Hag was given the keys, but there is still some quality in this side.
We are massively stifled right now down to player confidence; manager incompetence; tactical imbalance, and a lack of complementary profiles.
The squad needs work don’t get me wrong but a competent manager gets this side playing anywhere from 5th to 7th relatively comfortably

I thought Ruud van Nistelrooy was signed to be interim if s*** went on.
The FA cup saved his ass is what you're saying basically? Seems incompetent from the board and then giving him a contract extension.... My god.
I agree on the last part. But its just early to throw the whole season in the bin because you have an interim manager, and cant get a new one now.

If we keep ten Hag then this season is thrown in the bin anyway!
3 wins out of 11, -3GD. He has his entire squad (less Shaw and Yoro) available and fit for selection. He has signed well over 50% of the side.
How much more can you give him and still not ask for results?
