yeah you’re right but still it’s pretty shameful imo, everytime when something like this happens at any club and such young talented players leave i always feel like the situation could’ve been handled better…. lille sent him on loan right away that summer too so it’s kinda weird, had he stayed united could’ve made a few mil off him later or perhaps he could’ve been even useful now

maybe he had different plans though so it’s hard to judge, but to me this always felt like one of the cases of mismanagement where the player could’ve been convinced to stay had the club tried a bit more and came up with some plan for him - that’s just my feeling though, i could be and probably am wrong of course as obviously i don’t know what was going through his head at the time
