I think it all comes down to the manager’s priority — he doesn’t value ball progression and midfielders circulating the ball to hold it for lengthy periods of time.

He wants us to counterpress and be transitional — he doesn’t care if we hold the ball more than our opponents.

We averaged 50.6% possession per 90 last season - joint 8th with Fulham(!) in the league for that.

It’s a huge huge issue and I don’t think it will be resolved judging by the transfer targets and interests of the manager
