Ngl I completely stopped trying to predict how players are gonna workout out of some YouTube compilations. I haven’t seen a full game from this guy, so can only hope for the best. €40 mil luckily isn’t that much money for a guy his age.
Interesting, above the buyout but only because it's more sensible as a payment plan.. it seems simple but can imagine the sort of thing being overlooked prior
Hard to tell these days, 40m for me still feels like a blockbuster buy but maybe it's the minimum for a decent talent nowadays
Nottingham Forrest just signed a guy nobody has ever heard of from Newcastle for the same amount

Yeah I feel like paying for potential is a crazy risk but I’m willing to see where he is in a few years. A bit more worrying that he’s in his mid 20s - if you compare to Holjund who was only 20, but can’t say I’ve seen enough of Zirkzee to make any judgements.
Just the way football works now unfortunately.

Mid 20s, he only just turned 23.
40m is pretty much a bargain these days. One good season and his value has doubled. One mediocre season and his value is essentially the same.

I thought he was younger
I don’t think the fee is awful tbh, just don’t know a lot about him as a player and skeptical about Ten Hags eye for talent. At the same time, I kinda trust baldy to develop the players bc he’s done a good job with Mainoo and Garnacho.
Will see how it plays out like I said.
Seeing ruud on the touchline is going to be such a surreal feeling
when he takes over as boss in October? agreed

We can't call out Ten Hag's eye for talent anymore. Every signing from here on out should presumably have gone through Wilcox and Ashworth too (potentially Berrada).
I don't know anything about him either really but all I think of now is Kudus who 99% of us weren't keen on and he's been absolute quality in his first season.

Seeing Rene Hake and Jelle ‘Bassie’ Ten Rouwelaar at the great Manchester United feels like I’m having a fever dream

good or bad?
they put zirkzee on klarna
We got Berrada and pulled a Barka trick
I love this game
65 goals by January
65 goals by January
only person employed at united that can still do that is Ruud.
good or bad?
Idk lol. Just two characters I’d never had imagined to be at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Hake is a decent eredivisie coach but also a guy with a heavy rural accent who always gave me the impression he wouldn’t speak a word of English. And Ten Rouwelaar was the keeper of my local rivals club for 20 years and was made fun of by almost all rival fans in the country because he was fat as f*** and a horrible keeper lol. Apparently he discovered and mentored Verbruggen (current NL nt gk), so he gained some credibility as a goalkeepers coach here.
They’re just really local characters that I would never have expected to set a foot outside of the Netherlands. Not the worldly types you’d expect at Manchester United.

Better profile than I bet The Athletic and MU will ever even post. Cool insight.
zirkzee is overall a better baller than hojlund by miles but tbh if United continue to play the way they did last season I don’t really see how Zirkzee could work out in that system…. I think he will ball out if the whole rest of the team doesn’t play s*** like last season tho
anyways it’s a pretty good buy imo, not that much of a risk for 40m…. certainly a purchase that makes more sense to me than hojlund for that price tag a year ago
