Can’t speak for Grenouille, but realistically the only way anyone on here even approaches your current love for Ten Hag is if we have a Pool 2019/2020 start to the season.

I guarantee you my perceived love for ten Hag is more a lack of hate and a misperceived neutrality than anything

What's the expectation for ETH this season?

    Top 3? Europa semi's / final?

Top four and europa league final or bust tbh

Winning the charity shield would be a good way to start the season but not important in the long run, unless we don’t win the europa league.

Put Martinez in there and a stable backline and a better DM and no chance in hell we’d be having this convo

? We played almost just as s*** in year 1 too.

Lol I was teasing an Arsenal supporting friend of mine about even Ten Hag having more trophies than Arteta and the guy deadass said: ‘but what about community shields?’ I said that s*** was not a real trophy and his response was even worse, he said that the Community Shield is a trophy on an equal level as the League Cup. And he was 100% serious. I was legit flabbergasted

Challenge for second place with Arsenal (City easily gonna win another one, so title has to wait at least another year) and with this new format and no knockedout CL teams or Sevilla/Villareal in EL he needs to win it. (Except if he finally begins to treat it like the second rate competition it is and just plays youth and bench players)

According to himself last season was an anomaly with the injuries and can be discarded so I say that we to do better than his first season so at least place 3 and a trophy

    5 in a row??? No f***ing way

Wouldn’t even be loved either. Klopp has charisma, that’s what makes him special and a cult figure.

You think the big Arse are actually gonna grow a winners mentality over the summer when they haven’t had one in over 20 years? No chance

I do. They were 2 points away. Zero chance city win 5th. They’re finishing 3rd this season. It’s not a video game, you need hungry players.
    1. Arsenal
    2. Spurs
    3. City
    4. Liverpool
    5. United

Oh right. You mean the team that he inherited from Rangnick with Ronaldo and a bunch of other crises and the awesome recruitment strategy from Glazers and he managed to end up 3rd when people were desperate for a 6th place at the start of that season?

Replace ‘5th’ with ‘4th’ and this is literally the exact same thing people said last year. As long as Arsenal keeps celebrating 0-0’s at the Etihad they’re not gonna win it.

No it’s to make progress and play football. I could care less about winning the league the gap is large. But you can play a certain way that shows progression and is attacking. Despite the fa cup win, for 2 years now I would argue we’ve played the worst football of any United manager.

I personally think we’re in a better position for next year than Liverpool

CL qualification is the bare minimum, I personally feel that we should be doing better than Liverpool (New lightweight manager, Salah problem, best players aging while most replacements have been mediocre, plus no Klopp influencing ref decisions), Chelsea (New lightweight manager, inexperienced and unbalanced squad), Tottenham (their squad also just isn’t that special imo) and AV/Newcastle (FFP gonna hamper them).

This is all on the condition we can offload at least another 8 players or so and get a few decent replacements in of course.

The odds are definitely in your favour, but look at the league next season man — Pep’s never had an easier time of winning the league.

Next seasons opposition is Mikelqaeda, two mediocre Dutch managers, and the guy who almost bottled the Championship with Leicester

why would arsenal be worse? I dont get the logic - just cause they have come up short last year, doesn't mean they cannot win. every sign points to them improving next season once more especially with a couple of additions, and city regressing has to happen eventually. why not next year.

Definitely agree. We play some real horrible attacking football in the past two years.

    2022/23 — we scored 57 goals in 38 matches
    2023/24 — we scored 58 goals in 38 matches
115 goals in 76 PL games

Outscored by 7 teams in that timeframe: Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs, Newcastle, Villa, Brighton (honourable mention to Brentford who only scored 1 fewer than us)

    Horrible stuff.

The funny part is when we do score it’s some absolute individual genius banger/skilled team goal
