he’s very much in the game almost all the time unlike hojlund who you barely see on the pitch a lot of games

won’t lie hojlund still hasn’t convinced me at all in any other aspect than being a somewhat lethal finisher…. that’s his huge benefit (especially in the current state of lacking #9’s almost everywhere) but from what i seen zirkzee is twice the player he is in almost any other aspect of the game imo…. not meaning this in any bad way though, he just still needs to develop a lot in many ways

they’re hard to compare though so it feels kinda unfair, both have a completely different game

zirkzee is definitely a more convincing player to me overall but hojlund is a really good finisher

might just be the tactical setup at bologna though and zirkzee would be probably f***ed at united if isolated up top just like hojlund is many times, he needs the ball a lot unlike hojlund

really want to see him in prem though cause he’s got the potential, feel like he would shine in a lot of clubs

Well the main problem at us is that our wingers can’t get the ball to our striker. Zirkzee would be struggling even more than Hojlund here

That’s why I don’t believe in the ‘keep Rashford cus he might have a purple patch next season’ gimmick. The guy gives absolutely zero service to his striker, he’s all in it for himself, even if he scores 20, it just means he’s probably taken 15 goals from our other attackers.

Can Zirkzee play out wide? Maybe a good option to rotate with Holjund/Nacho for us.

Zirkzee is more of a false 9 type of striker. Despite being so huge he wants to drop deep, carry the ball, and make linkups in the middle pitches. Technically gifted, but not yet showing signs of being a huge goalscorer.

not really tbh. meant it more in a way that sometimes he drifts out wide to support the link-up but idk I would rather not play him out wide, feels a bit wasteful. pretty much what grenouille said that sums him up pretty well.
