thats what happened with Wenger arsenal, just cruised to top 4 for 10 years and never hit rock bottom to tear it all down.
Yeah I don’t think Holjund has been a flop so to speak, but Watkins has been consistently good for Villa the last two seasons.
Holjund has a higher ceiling but it’s whether he gets there not bc we’re not the greatest at bringing players in and developing them.

im coping heavy rn after today but at least szobo was good for half a season and might get back to form one day…. can’t say that about mount, total waste of money tbf

We’d have been better with Watkins for sure, but we currently have the 2nd most shots against in the league, only 2 behind Sheffield. We were def not gonna finish top 4 regardless of who we had as striker

eh.. doubt he’ll ever be useful even under the new manager . he’s only on borrowed time because of the “he’ll be back after the injury” cope otherwise it would’ve been already over for him imo (i mean injury is a valid reason but i can’t help but think he’d be s*** anyways) . if i’m proven wrong, i’ll happily apologize . agree that it would be unfair to judge and write him off so early though

glad it worked out like this for him, what a game to score a hattrick in after all these trophyless years for leverkusen
the way he bounced back from that devastating injury is truly remarkable and admirable…. came for him at the worst time too right after he truly popped off, that would be pretty much the end for many such young players of his age
if he goes for any less than 200m in the summer it would genuinely be a bargain, generational talent as i said…. where would he even go tho idk who might really need him?? might be better off staying another year at leverkusen and just wait for the right opportunity to leave, xabi’s staying as well anyways so everything is perfect there atm
