has to be - at least when using January 1st as the date. 2017-18 I remember we had the great start with Mou but city were out of this world that season (they won 18 in a row). way more points than we're about to start 2021 with, but city were unstoppable so we weren't even close.

Idk Fred has a lot more technical ability than Scott, but lacks his fierceness and overall football intelligence.

fred for me is the one I dont rate. hopefully when we do 4231 pogba is now permanently in the lineup alongside Scott

Really disagree regarding Fred’s fierceness. To me he has shown it’s in there. And it’s Scott’s footballing intelligence which is the most overrated to me. With the ball he’s not really gifted and without he doesn’t has a lot of interceptions, but instead makes a lot of fouls. That can be helpful, but I expect more from a controlling midfielder. That’s why I think Fred is more suited because of his footballing qualities. For me Scott is the perfect embodiment of United’s problems

Agree on Fred but Mctominays still growing to be that box to box player we don’t have and has played well so don’t be too quick to write him off

as a scot, mctom is always going to be limited in ability, but he makes up for it in desire. but I dont think we can win title with mctom at the heart of our midfield, hes fine as a reserve and we've always had this type of player in all Ferguson teams too
