Christmas time with a goal drought, a Dutch manager out of his depth, bunch of young guys thrown in there for the sake of it, embarrassing Champions League elimination and a big signing from the Eredivisie incapable of doing anything against prem defenders.

And when we're back here in 18 months what do we do?

I stuck up for Ten Hag longer than anyone ITT aside from be2ye (and apparently you) but it’s reached a point where, even if it’s just for his own good… we have to let him go. I do absolutely believe a new manager won’t change much but we can’t keep this up. We haven’t played this lifeless in a very long time, since the end of the Ole/Rangnick season, a clear indicator the players no longer believe and have downed tools, once you get to that point, you have to move on.

Do we let him see out the Villa game and then bring the new manager in for Forest/Wigan, or do we just do it now?

I wonder which would give him a better, more stress free Christmas.

    Shut up man

Oh no, I'm not disagreeing I just feel like we've seen this for years. Regardless of who we get we'll be back to this point in the next 2-3 seasons.

Does seem like it's the end of the road for Ten Hag though, I wish it could have been different.

    come out strong
miss every clear chance at goal
    they get a chance
    we wobble
they score as many as they like

its a script at this point

I suspect we’ll have a caretaker, then early into the New Year Ratcliffe and the new regime get announced, and then they bring in their guy… which will probably be Potter.

The "downed tools" is the easiest cliche in the book, it has no read on reality when a week ago we got a good point at Anfield and a week before that a good result at Chelsea interspersed amongst s*** results

this team is full of a few good players that either can't make up for the rest of the team or get injured easily, confidence players who don't turn up every second season and s*** players full of confidence

we can give this group to another manager to do nothing with or we can fix the player problem we've had for a decade then figure out what to do with the manager, cause he's taking lots of missteps but literally nothings gonna change if we get a new manager besides a couple of the confidence players showing some form for a few months then we'll be back here

We can try and do both. It doesn’t have to be either or.

The team are a bit s***, ten Hag isn’t anywhere near as good as we wanted him to be.

Jimothy Radcliffe hopefully implements some footballing structure in positions of authority across the club, culls the squad of overpaid non performers, and also hires a manager who is a little bit better than what is currently being served.

The team stepping up against other big teams and important games doesn’t indicate a breaking of pattern and if anything, strengthens it. The players show up when they want to— at Anfield to avenge last season, etc. Maybe you don’t agree, maybe you think it’s stupid, but I think many of the performances over the past month have been independent of any Ten Hag direction.

Yeah my thoughts exactly. But fans can’t thug it out and remain patient because of their desire for more consistency, more to look forward to and whatever positive hunger

    Yeah, it’s the game though

Absolute next gen monster. Needs to run on super low lol. It’s playable but crashes because it runs out of memory
