I know that was deflected but Bowen the type of guy United, Pool fans etc. turn their noses up to and then act shocked when he makes a move up and pops. Not saying I want United to sign him but happy he didn't go Pool or something last year
i would be glad to have him honestly . and even though he wouldn’t feel like a worthy salah replacement he’s still a great player and i really rate him. and to be fair nobody is replacing salah i really can’t think of a single name even though there are a few options that would be probably better than bowen. if bowen comes i wouldn’t be mad at all though .

Problem with players like him (PL quality players already in the league) joining us is twofold really:
1. The price will never be reflective of quality.
2. The magnifying glass on Bowen’s performances at Manchester United is x100 compared to at West Ham. Bad games go under the radar because nobody cares really, until he joins and then he’s fighting an already losing battle.
Stocking your club with PL quality players was a viable tactic — SAF used to do it all the time. The issue is you just can’t do it anymore because of the outrageous money every single team has.
Sheffield United are dead last right now. You probably couldn’t even bully them for a player these days. Even Championship clubs get £15-30m for their players now!

Agreed, you used to not need to be ahead of the curve, you'd get the player for what he'd already shown (or less) as opposed to his best case scenario on your team. The going rate for someone with a decent season and some potential is 60m+.
As you said you can't brute force it anymore, nor can you do whatever these accountants are trying. Does make me hope this Paul Mitchell comes in and starts signing players 2+ years before they really pop.

yeah especially for the British lads. I think you really have to develop your own core of brits, impossible to find the next Bowen/Grealish/etc for cheap and pry them away from their hometown club.

We tried to do it w Daniel James and look how that worked out

I’d wholeheartedly play him over Antony
Spurs absolutely bossing it
Just shows what a decent manager can do
Currently limping along with the habitual bullshitter because he got us top 4 last season.. which will result in us getting knocked out of the UCL as fast as possible
I’d wholeheartedly play him over Antony
No, never.
Daniel James is by far the most frustrating I have ever seen play for United. Only reason Antony is even considered on that level of being s*** is cus of his antics. The only thing Daniel James did was receive the ball on the wing and run straight into the left back, literally every time.

never had the makings of a varsity athlete
So to stay in the CL we have to win all our remaining games? Including Bayern at home?
I recon we beat Bayern and lose or draw the rest

Next three would be enough imo, don't foresee Gala getting more than a point against Bayern in either games and obviously in this outlandish scenario United somehow don't gift them another win.
Sadly 3 wins against Copenhagen and Galatasaray is like one of them mountains Ole was talking about for this team
We getting another CL star performance from Hojlund today?
Hat trick minimum

Gonna be so crazy when Hojlund ends up CL top scorer despite us going out in the group stages.
Crazy how he won’t start Hannibal or Garnacho. What has happened to Mount?
Weird how Mount was his top Summer target, has been our most consistent midfielder when he’s played, but now for some reason can’t get a start.

Probably thought he could start him next to Bruno. Dumb purchase so far
Mount has the most precipitous downfall I’ve ever seen. From the face of a CL winning side to being finished at the top level before 25 years old
