4 goals in 17 I think it is now btw for the star boy
Manager says he picks based on performances not star names
Apparently heās not a bullshitting fraud
This has to be the biggest letdown of a season weāve had in awhile right? Even Mou his sacked season was better. Ole too. Expectations were high to at least improve from last season, especially after signing 4 (Onana, Mount, Ambrabat, Hojlund) first team players.
Also Iāll defend Klopp.
"The red card for Curtis, everyone in here at the news conference probably thinks red card, but I played football and you didn't," Klopp said. "When you see it in slow motion, it looks horrendous, but in real time it doesn't look bad.
Iāve been saying this s*** for ages, every single f***ing tackle slowed down looks like an assault. Bunch of nerds running football nowadays VAR is a s*** show. All VAR does is make games now 110 minutes long, and cause annoyance when someone is 2 millimeters offside cause the line got drawn from the wrong spot after your player got sent off for a normal yellow card 5 years ago.
Also Iāll defend Klopp.

The f***ed up thing is, they left the monitor on a still image of the contact and only showed one angle.
The refs mind is already made up then. They didnāt bother showing the point of contact between his boot and the ball and it rolling above it.
The ref also gave Jota a yellow for the Spurs playing tripping over himself.

I didnāt think it was a red card either tbh, goes for the ball, touches the ball and then hits the Tottenham player pretty ugly, but with zero foul intentions. Casemiro got a red card like that last year and I thought it was bs too

Last Ole season too tbh, but this is on par almost
Another thing I feel is that we have to start Martial in attack as long as heās fit. Aside from his obvious flaws I think heās great at connecting the play up front, isnāt selfish and is good in the combination. Donāt know what spot he should be in upfront, but we looked so much better in attack midweek when he was playing.

In the context of the first 7 games, it's objectively the worst start to the season we've ever had.
But it's too early to judge it as an overall season. That last Ole season was saved entirely by a two month Ragnick purple patch, and even then we couldn't even muster 60 points. That was coming off a season where we finished 2nd and in the Summer window leading up to the 21/22 season we brought in Sancho and Ronaldo. Expectations were rightfully sky high and we shat the bed to an extraordinary degree.
Sooo after letting things settleā¦
Iām really tired of the āheās playing out of positionā excuse for Rashford, heās arguably a worse player when heās on the wing. When heās up top heās more of a non-factor, when heās on the wing and he isnāt scoring goals, heās an actively awful contributor to the team.
His 3 month purple patch last year is largely the reason weāre playing CL football this year but idk, we shouldāve engaged with PSG more seriously when they wanted him.
Iām also getting tired of Bruno. People always talk about his big chance creation (and apparently weāre third in the PL for it this year already) but like where are they actuallyā¦? All the blame usually goes to our front three but Iām starting to think thereās a flaw with the stat itself, or at least how itās used in relation to the chances Bruno creates. He has far more stinkers than he does good games, but heāll light up every other game with an unreal pass that makes everyone (even me) go āOMG LOOK HOW GOOD HE ISā⦠it happened yesterday, but the overall game from him was poor. I genuinely think Mount had a better one, but heās the one getting pelters this morning.
One is on a brand new 300k+ a week contract and the face of the team⦠the other is the newly appointed captain. Just an awful situation to be in.
Rant over lol.
Just going back to see where we thought the club was going and came across this again
Insane how spot on this is continuing to turn out to be
Hindsight is a funny thing man
Going back reading the summer posts, excitement, being told lindelof is a great option to have, Chelsea part of the top 4 push
Lmao I even said klopp might be done at Liverpool this season
Mad s***
So the exact opposite of your takes here

VAR is the worst thing to happen to this sport. The only people who like it are advanced stats, excel spreadsheet dorks on twitter who have never played football

They should get the same technology as there was at the world cup so that offside becomes another thing like a ball being over the goal line or not. Then we can get rid off VAR immediately.

Such a shame because VAR at its core is a good idea
Goal line technology, offside - things that like tennis and cricket are not up for opinion - itās perfect
As it is now itās a piss poor implementation of the idea and basically an old boys club for referees to continue to never be held accountable

Massive let down for sure but don't remember a season where we've had this many injuries, especially starting out.
Doesn't excuse the woeful performances at all but we're literally playing a DM at LB, the entire club needs a factory reset.
Liverpool fans actually think they deserve a replay for a mistake by the refs
Acting like that s*** doesnāt happen every other week
Looks like we should have some players back after the international break, just have to get battered by Galatasaray and Brentford first

No logical Liverpool fan is asking for a replay, neither is the club.
The important point you got there is āhappens every other weekā - which is one of the biggest issues that needs to be fixed, especially when you have VAR which is supposed to be eliminating as many āhuman errorsā as theyāre supposed to.
Having 3 people in the VAR room and not being able to rectify an onfield decision isnāt simply a āmistakeā.
The club isnāt even doing it for themselves, theyāre doing it for the league so the shambles of a PGMOL and their implementation of VAR to correct onfield decisions will help everyone.
These cock ups cost teams titles, European qualification and even PL survival and millions of pounds but all they do is send apology statements with no improvement of the standard.

Acting like they're doing it for the whole league when it finally effects them is pretty funny ngl, even if I agree with what they're saying.
Comes across as obnoxiously self-righteous.
