Playing better in the year before Ronaldo, and the year after Ronaldo, even though still nowhere close to where we should be, isn’t a coincidence. Rashford and Bruno, not their biggest fans at all, but them having their worst seasons in a United shirt the season that Ronaldo was there, isn’t a coincidence.

His individual brilliance saved us in a few games that season, but as an overall squad player he was even more useless than Rashford is when he isn’t scoring. He offered nothing besides his goals, and yes, he did stifle everyone around him. Not one other player in that squad had a decent season let alone a good season, yet for some baffling reason people praise Ronaldo for that instead of questioning why that is.

Yeah agree to an extent. In terms of having a bad season, and why that is, it's documented now that players lost their head with his demands in training.

I think both can be true. He showed them up by wanting more, which led to the decreased overall performances.

Cracks started to show in that Ole side before Ronaldo joined too, so I think with his addition, things dropped even more due to a number of factors which include the limitations in Cristiano's game by that point
