if we sign at least one more midfielder i believe it could work out honestly...its gonna probably take a while to sit together well but i have patience

the defense is worrying me more.. no CB signings is crazy they were s*** last season (midfield was mostly at fault but defense wasn’t anything special - if vvd or konate pick up an injury its over cause matip is slowly starting to be washed and needs to be replaced next season and gomez is just funny at this point)

out of the top 6 we really didn’t make any signings that should push us above them in the league table though i agree with you on that - im satisfied with both macallister and especially szoboszlai but compared to the competition its nothing special - arsenal, united and spurs all did better imo, city didn’t really need to do much + aston villa and newcastle did some start business too

chelsea is hard to judge cause they’re in a complete, brutal and total transition phase getting finally rid the deadwood of and replacing almost the entire squad so one can hardly predict what to expect from them

Yeah damn completely forgot about y’all defence, still got a rb that can’t defend and VVD who’s been shaky and isn’t getting any better + no backup

Only City fans are the ones that are getting spoiled

I'm sure all 4 of them are very pleased with this transfer window

Fulham’s bid would’ve hundred percent been higher and more like our Ā£20 mil ā€˜valuation’. But valuation doesn’t seem to mean anything. I do get that they just want to get rid of him asap to get in Amrabat already.

If Fulham wanted to bid they would have done so by now.

  • Aug 10, 2023

Mctominay's value is never going to go beyond 40m and at some point he's gonna need replacing. If we can sell him this window definitely sell him I say.

wish we signed van de ven who went to spurs….seemed like a great choice for liverpool - played 3 at the back at wolfsburg, quick, great on the ball, could play left back too

would have been the perfect lcb and it would allow trent to finally move to midfield/play the inverted role like towards the end of the season when things finally started to look bright

macallister and szoboszlai would then make much more sense as offensive focused signings too cause pool would be allowed to play what city did last season but sort of their own variation of it with 3-2-2-3 or whatever you wanna call it that pool played towards the end of the season with trent playing in midfield/inverted rb role - then just a cdm would be all thats needed to play next to trent, i do like bajcetic but someone else is needed, would take the gamble with lavia cause i really rate him tbh and there isn’t much to lose right now anyways

sort of really dont know what they’re going for this season with signings of both macallister and szoboszlai who are quite offensive-focused choices and no CB - seemed to me like they might go for that 3-2-2-3 with these signings and not the usual 4-3-3 but now im left confused if no defender comes (but now taking in regard that a new cdm will most definitely come soon it will most likely be the usual 4-3-3 - judging off pre-season too even though i haven’t been able to watch all the games but it was quite confusing anyways)

Is Robertson good enough as a lcb tho that’s another question, seems to be always forward a lot as well (although def better in def than TAA), feel like he’d be wasted there and not good enough as a cb for a team that want to challenge for the title

No way we’re keeping Henderson bro 😭😭 Put f***ing Johnny Evans in gloves if Onana gets injured or something.

Why are we selling Fred for less than £9 million but rejecting £30 million for McTominay lol

1 year left on his contract, not homegrown, 30 years old, and joining a Turkish club.

I like the guy and would much prefer to see McTominay out first but heyho

Ngl I have absolutely no idea what level Amrabat is

If he’s decent enough at positioning himself defensively to screen and showing for the ball to play a short pass game in the buildup he’ll be half alright.

Like @Mamba mentions though all I ever see of this guy are World Cup comps against France never seen a single clip of this guy for Fiorentina

    yeah exactly

hard to judge yet but definitely agree with everything you said - he’d probably be wasted there and he’s still a really class player for his position and you probably dont wanna sideline a player of his calibre even if they wanted to change the tactic

he might not be as world-class as he used to be for a while but still consistently good and a player that every opposition hates to play against (sort of like casemiro at manu now) - they will probably want to keep him in the starting eleven at any cost

if Kane gets his move, Vlahovic at spurs would be fun. from what I read about Ange and Celtics, he seems perfect.

    would be fun for prem.

oh yeah saw that rumour. thats cool, I didn't think he was city level whenever we play hammers / watched Brazil. different players. but pep knows best. don't think hes ever signed a mid that hasn't worked out. even Philips I still think will come good if he gets some mins.

good on harry making the right decision. 4 years at Bayern. come back to EPL at 34, score 20 goals a season for 2 years. and take spurs to the place they aspire. 7th.

I genuinely think Kane's an idiot for going to Bayern.

He's an idiot in the first place for needlessly signing a 6 year contract.

But now that you have, tough out one more season, captain Spurs in their 'first' transition season, then you can come to us or Madrid or whatever. But not f***ing Bayern. This isn't even a very good Bayern team at the moment. Just gonna rot in a s*** league for 3 years or however long hoping for a champions league, which doesn't seem very likely to me cause this Bayern side just is very much in their own transition period currently.
